~ Paper Clutter ~
It has recently been brought to my attention that I am in fact a hoarder ~ ‘a hoarder of paper clutter.’
I have a four drawer filing cabinet, numerous folders, two bookshelves, boxes & baskets that contain paper clutter. I think it’s time to eliminate some!
One piece of paper at a time ~ starting at the top of the pile & actioning each piece completely, NO file it later folders or clutter piles…file it now, deal with it now, throw it away now!
Don’t let it end up here:
Or here!
This is my file it later pile, it’s been sitting there for about three months!
More clutter….
Even more clutter…
I read up on some great advice from numerous web pages & I will be tackling seven years of paper clutter beginning today.
These are some of the best tips I picked up:
· Colour codes for each family member, using that colour folder to store the paperwork for that person.
· Taking photos on your mobile phone of important schedules, canteen menus, etc..,
· Use binders to keep papers neatly sorted.
· Hanging organising mail systems (I really want one of these).
· Setting aside desk time each week
· Kid’s artwork ~ make stationary & greeting cards, scan their pictures, take photos of them, make scrapbooks with them, using it as wrapping paper , putting it in an envelope & posting it to someone special.
Do you have a system in place that works for you to organise your paperwork?
